From Fort Sinclair to the incorporation as a city in 1858, people arrived on ships, ferries, and by rail to our city. The book includes the history of shipbuilding, sawmills, the salt industry, long gone grand hotels, local businesses, churches, civic clubs, education buildings and more.


This beautiful and memorable book contains over 200 pages with 580 or more photographs.  Larger print appropriate for all ages. A plot map is printed on the inside of the dustcover.
