Welcome to Our Celebration!
In order for this historic celebration to succeed, it is our hope that:
- organizations currently hosting annual events would create a sesquicentennial version of their event.
- additional sesquicentennial activities would be spearheaded clubs, civic organizations, businesses, or other non-profit groups.
- business leaders would sponsor an event, make a donation, or purchase an advertisement in the various sesquicentennial promotional materials.
To many people funding is one of the biggest indicators of how successful next year’s celebration will be. However, volunteers may be the most important of all. This site includes a list of planned events and other possibilities yet to be launched. It also allows you to volunteer and/or submit ideas. In order to avoid duplication and/or conflict, please forward your intent by clicking Volunteer!. Home Tour forms and other forms/applications are available at City Hall or by going to our Forms link. Your plans will then be included in future promotions and announcements.
A collectible "2008 Homecoming" calendar is now available at City Hall for purchase. It features vintage photographs along with the special sesquicentennial and annual events scheduled throughout the year. This 13 month calendar is printed on antique white/beige paper. Cost of the calendar is $7.00.
